A guide to Menopause : symptoms, care and management

Menopause is another milestone in a woman's life. It is a biological process which every woman goes through ! It is the end of their reproductive years which comes with various physical, emotional and hormonal changes.

Menopause is considered when the woman is aging over 51 years and hasn’t had her menstrual periods for 12 months. It usually occurs after 45 years. However some women can experience early menopause due to medical conditions, surgery and genetic factors. Menopause can be divided into three stages, such as :

  • Perimenopause : A transition into menopause starting in the late 30s or early 40s.
  • Menopause : This phase is when a woman has gone without periods for 12 months.
  • Postmenopause : It is the years after the menopause.

Menopause can have various symptoms but it can vary from woman to woman. Here are some of the most common signs and symptoms of menopause :

  • Hot flashes or night sweats
  • Irregular periods
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Mood swings and depression
  • memory concerns

There are certain ways to manage the symptoms of menopause naturally which can help women. they are :

  • maintaining a healthy diet
  • Going for regular exercise
  • Drinking plenty of water
  • Doing skincare
  • Managing stress
  • Reduced caffeine intake

Menopause is a natural phase in a woman’s life however it can be quite challenging to deal with. With the right understanding women can take proper care of it. Stay aware and seek help when you need it.
